 2-Sep-2009 - Flexense Releases FlexTk v3.4.32 FlexTk Server v3.4.32 adds an automatic storage management mode capable of performing file classification, storage utilization analysis and duplicate files detection operations on multiple disks, directories or network shares according to user-specified rules and policies.  The user is allowed to define multiple managed disks, directories or network shares and specify operations to perform and parameters to monitor for each managed directory. In addition, the FlexTk server allows one to define one or more actions that should be executed if one or more of the monitored parameters exceed the specified range.  For each monitored parameter, the FlexTk server collects statistical information, calculates trends and provides the user with the ability to define multiple conditional actions allowing one to send e-mail notifications, execute FlexTk's file management operations or user custom commands, scripts or batch files. Finally, FlexTk v3.1.10 adds a customizable JPEG EXIF Viewer capable of displaying standard or custom EXIF tags.
FlexTk v3.1.10 adds a new set of file matching rules providing the user with the ability to search files or perform file management operations on files that were created, last modified or last accessed on specific dates. The essential difference between the currently existing and the new sets of date matching rules is that the new set is matching files using absolute dates or dates ranges instead of relative time periods.  The currently existing relative dates matching rules are required in order to deliver consistent results when there is a need to search files or perform file management operations over time with the constantly changing current date. For example, a relative file matching rule configured to match all files that were modified during the last week will continuously deliver correct results. In addition to the currently existing relative dates matching rules, the newly added set of absolute dates matching rules provide the user with the ability to search files or perform file management operations on files that were created, last modified or last accessed on a specific date or during a range of dates.  The new product version adds JPEG EXIF file matching rules allowing one to search JPEG images or perform file management operations on JPEG images with designated EXIF tags set to specific values. In addition, FlexTk v3.1.10 adds a built-in JPEG EXIF viewer capable of displaying JPEG EXIF tags. In addition, FlexTk v3.0.60 allows one to access results of previously executed operations. Finally, the new product version is capable of dynamically controlling the speed of any running operation (FlexTk Ultimate only) thus allowing one to slow down or speed-up long running operations according to specific needs.  In addition, FlexTk version 3.0.60 provides nested rules and an extended set of logical operators allowing one to define sophisticated, multi-level file search operations. The new product version adds new types of file matching rules, NOT operators, XML-Based rules and much more. Finally, FlexTk Ultimate provides the ability to control the speed of the search process thus allowing one to intentionally slow down the search process when searching vast amounts of files on active production systems.
