FlexTk v2.8.42 is a service release providing minor improvements and bug fixes. The new product version improves performance of file classification and file search operations on quad-core CPUs, reduces memory utilization and fixes a number of minor memory leaks. In addition, FlexTk version 2.8.42 improves the scalability of file classification operations on large file systems containing millions of files.

4-Nov-2008 - Flexense releases FlexTk Version 2.8.40

FlexTk version 2.8.40 adds a large number of new features and capabilities including advanced file classification modes, storage utilization analysis actions and notifications, multi-pass, DOD 5220.22-M compliant data wiping algorithms, drag-and-drop operations for user-defined commands, etc.

The new product version adds the following new file classification modes:

• Build Hierarchy of Links - in this file classification mode FlexTk will build an organized hierarchy of directories as defined in the used file classification plugin and populate it with links pointing to original files allowing one to use standard file managers and other tools to browse and access file classification results.
• Copy File Hierarchy - in this file classification mode FlexTk will build an organized hierarchy of directories as defined in the used file classification plugin and copy classified files into this hierarchy.
• Move File Hierarchy - in this file classification mode FlexTk will build an organized hierarchy of directories as defined in the used file classification plugin and move original files into this hierarchy thus physically reorganizing data on the disk.
• Move and Link (FlexTk Ultimate only) - in this file classification mode FlexTk will build an organized hierarchy of directories as defined in the used file classification plugin, move original files into this hierarchy and place links (instead of original files) pointing to file classification results.

FlexTk v2.8.40 provides storage utilization analysis conditions, actions and notifications (FlexTk Ultimate only) allowing one to specify commands to be executed or notifications sent if user-defined conditions are met. The user is provided with the ability to define one or more condition/action pairs for the number of files, the total amount of used storage space, the amount of free space, etc. Conditions may be specified for a particular directory or a set of directories detected automatically according to user-defined rules and policies.

The new product version adds a number of multi-pass data wiping algorithms allowing one to completely remove personal data from the disk effectively eliminating any possibilities of future data recovery. In addition, enterprises and institutions are provided with multiple DOD 5220.22-M compliant data wiping algorithms (FlexTk Ultimate Only) allowing one to completely destroy confidential information on magnetic disks.

FlexTk v2.7.30 is a major product update providing a large number of new features and capabilities including advanced duplicate files search and removal capabilities, rule-based storage utilization analysis features, advanced file copy and data migration features, real-time disk monitoring with Continuous Data Protection (CDP) capabilities and much more.

The user is provided with the ability to define multiple customized policies and action sets optimized for accurate detection and automatic removal of duplicate files in complex enterprise storage environments.

In addition, FlexTk v2.7.30 adds advanced real-time disk monitoring capabilities (FlexTk Ultimate only) allowing one to detect changes in all or specific file types, automatically generate change reports, execute FlexTk's user-defined commands, custom user commands or batch files. In conjunction with the existing file synchronization, file copy and data migration capabilities, the new version of the disk monitor allows one to synchronize or backup changed files in real-time, after each X changes (as defined by the user), thus providing a simple yet effective Continuous Data Protection (CDP) solution.

The new product version introduces rule-based storage utilization analysis capabilities with advanced performance optimization options (FlexTk Ultimate only). The user is provided with the ability to define file matching rules specifying file types that should be analyzed. In addition, the user is provided with the ability to specify how fast (Full Speed, Medium, Slow or Manual) the storage utilization analysis should be performed. This feature is intended to minimize performance impact on running production systems when analyzing large file systems containing millions of files.

2-Sep-2008 - Flexense releases FlexTk Version 2.6.12

FlexTk version 2.6.12 adds an integrated image viewer capable of displaying JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP, TIFF, PBM, PGM, PPM, XBM, and XPM images. Just click on an image file to open the FlexTk's built-in image viewer. In addition, the new product version introduces drag-and-drop operations allowing one to copy or move files and directories to file system bookmarks or recently visited locations.

FlexTk v2.6.12 extends functionality and significantly improves performance of file synchronization operations. The new product version is much faster and capable of synchronizing timestamps on directories. Finally, FlexTk version 2.6.12 adds a number of additional configuration options allowing one to more precisely control and customize the product's behavior.

6-Aug-2008 - Flexense releases FlexTk Version 2.5.20

FlexTk version 2.5.20 adds a built-in Flickr uploader allowing one to upload pictures to Flickr directly from the file manager. FlexTk's built-in Flickr uploader provides the user with the ability to upload pictures, edit pictures' titles, tags and descriptions and even resize or rotate pictures on-the-fly without touching original files saved on the disk. In addition, FlexTk's built-in Flickr uploader allows one to connect to multiple Flickr accounts and switch between them as needed.

The new product version provides customizable keyboard shortcuts for all file management and navigation commands. In addition, FlexTk v2.5.20 allows one to associate custom keyboard shortcuts with user-defined file system bookmarks and to jump to frequently used directories by pressing on a single key. Finally, the new version adds navigation history allowing one to jump to recently visited locations in a single mouse click.

Flexense releases native 64-Bit versions of the FlexTk file management toolkit for Windows XP Professional x64, Windows Server 2003 x64, Windows Server 2003 R2 x64, Windows Vista x64 and Windows Server 2008 x64. The 64-Bit product versions provide exactly the same feature set as their 32-Bit counterparts.

1-Jul-2008 - Flexense releases FlexTk Version 2.4.28

FlexTk version 2.4.28 adds rule-based file synchronization capabilities allowing one to synchronize files matching user defined criteria. The user is provided with the ability to specify file matching rules and logical conditions defining specific file types that should be synchronized.

In addition, the new product version adds preview capabilities for all file organizing operations. FlexTk v2.4.28 allows one to simulate execution of any file organizing command, review and confirm specific file organizing actions that should be performed.

Finally, the new product version introduces disk monitoring capabilities (FlexTk Ultimate only) providing the ability to perform real-time monitoring of all changes made in one or more disks or directories. The disk monitor is capable of detecting in real-time all file system changes including file modifications, deletions, creations, attribute changes, renames, etc. The disk monitor allows one to monitor one or more disks or directories, browse file system changes and export reports into a number of standard formats such as HTML, Excel CSV and text.

The new product version adds advanced file synchronization capabilities allowing one to synchronize files and directories between disks and computers over the network. The FlexTk’s built-in file synchronizer is capable of synchronizing millions of files using numerous advanced file synchronization modes while providing the user with flexible performance optimization options.

In addition, FlexTk v2.3.36 provides support for Unicode file names allowing one to perform all file management operations on files with multi-language file names. The FlexTk's built-in disk cleaner is especially designed to be as simple as possible allowing one to perform the disk cleaning operation safely and smoothly.

2-Apr-2008 - Flexense releases FlexTk Version 2.1.18

FlexTk version 2.1.18 adds a thumbnail view mode, customizable detailed view, colored file types, columns sorting, user-selectable tool panes including bookmarks, file filters, a local disks status and a system status pane. FlexTk v2.1.18 extends the 'Web Search' capability with support for new Web and FTP search engines allowing one to select a file and search for more information about the file directly from the file navigator.

In addition, FlexTk v2.1.18 adds premium file classification plug-ins (available for registered users only) capable of detecting hidden movies and video files. The premium file classification plug-ins use binary pattern matching rules and are capable of detecting hidden movies and video files with changed file names and extensions thus allowing enterprises to identify and clean-up storage-wasting and potentially dangerous video content.

The FlexTk File Management Toolkit v2.0.20 adds advanced file search features and rule-based file organizing capabilities allowing one to scan file systems and perform various operations on files or file groups matching user-defined criteria.

The user is provided with the ability to search files by name, type, size, access or modification time, attributes, text or binary patterns and automatically perform various operations such as copy, move, delete or execute a custom, user-defined command.

1-Feb-2008 - Flexense releases FlexTk Version 1.8.12

The FlexTk File Management Toolkit version 1.8.12 provides recoverable copy operations, advanced data migration capabilities and additional copy performance optimization options.

The new product version adds the ability to copy, move or delete file classification results thus allowing one to physically reorganize data on the disk as the result of the file classification process.

In addition, FlexTk v1.8.12 includes 200+ new file classification rules bringing the total number of supported file types to more than 1400.

2-Jan-2008 - Flexense releases FlexTk Version 1.7.10

The new product version provides advanced performance optimization options for high-speed file copy and data migration over Gigabit Ethernet including support for multi-stream and double-buffering copy operations.

FlexTk Version 1.7.10 provides new file system navigation capabilities including a dedicated file system bookmarks view allowing one to switch between a number of different file system locations in a single mouse click.

In addition, the new product version includes a dedicated filters view, which is automatically updated according to the files existing in each directory and allowing one to select the file type that should be displayed in a single mouse click.

Finally, the FlexTk Version 1.7.10 adds support for 400+ new file classes bringing the total number of recognizable file types to more than 1200, thus significantly improving the file classification accuracy.
