FlexTk Server

Features:

In addition to the web-based interface and command line tools, FlexTk Server allows one to perform all types of file management operations using a server management GUI application. The FlexTk server management GUI application is available in FlexTk Server and FlexTk Ultimate installations. The server management GUI application may be used to manage FlexTk Server locally and through the network.

The server management application connects to FlexTk Server through the network using the server's control port, which may specified during the server's installation procedure. If you need to connect to FlexTk Server from a remote machine, make sure the server's control port is open in the host's firewall. In order to connect to FlexTk Server, press the 'Connect' button located on the left side of the main toolbar.

On the 'Connect' dialog enter the server's host name (or IP address), the control port (default is 8090), the user name (default is 'admin'), password (default is 'admin') and press the 'Connect' button. Once connected, the server management application will show the name of the server and the server status on the main status bar.

The server management GUI application allows one to manage user-defined commands, tasks, user accounts and server's configuration. The user is provided with the ability to import, export, execute and edit user-defined commands using the same GUI interface that is available in FlexTk Ultimate. Take into account that each user account defined in the server's configuration has its own set of user-defined commands and periodic jobs.

The main application window shows the list of server's tasks. FlexTk Server is capable of executing multiple file management operations simultaneously or sequentially one after one. The server's task list shows all currently running tasks, pending tasks and a history of completed tasks. In order to pause one or more running tasks, select the required tasks and press the 'Pause' button. In order to resume one or more previously paused tasks, select all the required tasks and press the 'Continue' button. Select one or more active tasks and press the 'Stop' button to cancel all the selected tasks.

In order to open commands management dialog, press the 'Commands' button located on the main toolbar. The commands management dialog is very similar to the commands dialog available in FlexTk Professional and FlexTk Ultimate. In order to create a new user-defined command, press the 'Add' button and select the required command type. In order to import a user-defined command, click the right mouse button over the commands view and select the 'Import Commands' menu item.

In order to execute a user-defined command, select the command item in the commands view and press the 'Execute' button. Take into account that user-defined commands are executed on the server's host computer and all parameters, such as files and directories, should be specified according to the server's local file system or using absolute UNC path names (FlexTk Server only).

FlexTk Server allows one to execute one or more user-defined commands periodically at specific time intervals. In order to open the 'Periodic Jobs' dialog, press the 'Jobs' button on the main toolbar. Take into account that each user account defined in the server's configuration has its own set of user-defined commands and periodic jobs. In order to add a new periodic job, press the 'Add' button, select the user-defined command that should be executed and specify the required time interval.

In addition, the server management GUI application allows one to manage file classification plugins, users and server's configuration. In order to open the plugins management dialog, press the 'Plugins' button located on the main toolbar. In order to open the users management dialog, press the 'Users' button located on the main toolbar. Select menu 'Tools - Server Options' to open the server's configuration dialog.
