FlexTk Server

Features:

FlexTk Server is capable of operating in a fully-automatic storage management mode allowing one to define multiple managed disks, directories or network shares and specify operations to perform and parameters to monitor for each managed directory. In addition, the FlexTk server allows one to define one or more conditional actions that should be executed if one or more of the monitored parameters exceed the specified range.

For each monitored parameter, the FlexTk server collects statistical information, calculates trends and provides the user with the ability to define multiple conditional actions allowing one to send e-mail notifications, execute FlexTk's user-defined commands or custom commands, scripts or batch files.

In order to add a new managed directory, login into the FlexTk server, navigate to the 'Home' page and click on the 'Plus' icon in the top-right corner of the page. The 'Add Managed Directory' page allows one to specify a unique display name and a file system path that should be processed. Select the 'Enable Directory' checkbox to make the directory active from the beginning. Select the 'Update Now' checkbox to instruct the FlexTk server to immediately start processing the specified file system path.

Click on a managed directory to see all the monitoring properties that are defined for the managed directory. By default, managed directories are created based on a customizable XML template file, which is located in the 'Product Root/templates' directory. The template file contains a default list of monitoring properties and the user is provided with the ability to customize the template file according to his/her own needs and wishes. In addition, the FlexTk's command line tool allows one to import custom managed directories specified according to an open XML-Based format defined in FlexTk's  XML format specification.

In order to see detailed information about a directory property, click on the property item in the directory view. For each monitoring property, FlexTk Server displays all the defined conditional actions with corresponding statuses, the history graph and history statistics. FlexTk Server allows one to define an unlimited number of conditional actions for each monitoring property. For example, the user may specify to send an e-mail notification when the number of duplicate files reaches one threshold and to execute an automatic duplicates removal command when the number of duplicates reaches a second threshold.

In order to add a new conditional action to a monitoring property, navigate to the property's page and click on the 'Plus' icon displayed in the top-right corner of the page. On the conditional action page, select the operator type, the condition value to check for, the condition value units (if required), the action type and an action value (if required). The action value should be specified according to the selected action type and should represent an e-mail address for notification actions, a name of the FlexTk's user-defined command for user-defined command actions or a name of an executable, script or a batch file for custom command actions.
